Finally a light at the end of the tunnel...

Well its been a long week and a half since I have been home from the hospital. I got home on Tuesday (the 11th) and proceeded to feel worse and not better. I had a dr appointment on that Friday (the 14th) which I barely made it to because I felt that crappy. I explained to the dr that I felt the abx he had me on weren't doing anything and that they should probably be switched.

He agreed and switched both abx which I am supposed to do for 2 more weeks for a grand total of 5 1/2 weeks of medication. It sucks but the good news is tomorrow is only a week on the new abx and I feel better than I did the whole time on the old abx. I am also on 50mg of prednisone every other day for the rest of the time too so of course I have been needing insulin.

Luckily my little sister doesn't start her sophomore year till Monday so she has stayed with me the whole week and has been such a great help. I couldn't have done it without her. She has been my personal chef making sure I eat a good breakfast and lunch everyday. We have a two story house and when I feel really crappy I hate going downstairs if I don't absolutely have to and skipping a meal isn't an option for me especially when I am sick. I don't know many 15 yr olds that are that great I am lucky to have such a great baby sister! :-)

I am going to see Dr. Faverio tomorrow so I will let you know how I do. I have to do PFT's for the Azli study because the last ones I did were longer than 30 days ago. I don't think they are going to be to good since I still have a week of abx but you never know. Just be visualizing good numbers for me!

May I ask what abx you switched to? And which one did you switch from?

Hi Jen! How'd your appt go? Feeling better still w/ the new abx? I'm sending good vibes your way, my friend!!!

ps. I did go to the gym pre-tx. Until I was O2 dependent, I would take yoga there and do the weight machines and treadmill. But once I needed O2, which was for about 2 yrs b/f the tx, I only went and walked on the treadmill cuz it seemed easier to do weights at home since then I wouldn't have an o2 tank to lug around. Did you ever try those Core Secrets DVD's? If so, what did you think??
